In this modern era, we can all agree that money has become an important part of our lives as a neccessity. Money, just like our personalities and abilities, can determine our future. Without it, you may not be able to afford the tuition fees for college or even a home. Thus, we should learn to spend money wisely since we were young.
We, as teenagers, love to discover new things, especially those regarding hobbies or a personal style. We cannot help but be curious of what wonders the world has to offer. However, we must not empty our wallets and purses just to see those wonders. We should manage our expenses by creating a shopping list for necessary items only. The 'discovery' we all look forward to can wait. These necessary items should be the items that are frequently involved in our lives such as food for energy, stationery as well as reference books for our education. Books are essential, especially when we need to constantly improve our level of education.
We can compare prices between the products we need to buy. Often, cheaper brands serve the same quality of purpose as expensive ones. In my opinion, as long as the product does the job, the quality of the outcome should be the least of your concerns. Besides, you should shop at places that sell items for a cheaper price. Once you have found what you were looking for, you would be grateful it does not cost an arm and a leg. Cheaper stores or supermarkets are often located in small towns or near residential areas, as opposed to shopping complexes in the big city.
Next, I would recommend having a budget before you make your shopping list. You should only spend half of the total money you received from your family or earned by running a small business, as the expenses for a year. The other half should be kept in your bank account. Some items might carry a hefty price even though you need it badly. The solution here is simple, just pass. Buying what you can afford is really helpful when you are managing money for future use.
Buying during sales can save your money too! You can usually get discounts of up to 70% off. That's a lot of money that can stay in your pocket, if you ask me. When in doubt, you can rely on your own cooking which is cheaper than buying lunch from the school canteen. Besides, nobody knows you better than yourself, so you can make whatever food you desire.
After all the tiring times you've been at school for compulsory co-curricular activities, extra classes and projects, it sounds like you deserve some time to yourself. Leisure time activities are what we're always looking forwards to, but they also come at a price. We should think about the cost of carrying out your hobbies. As mentioned, we love to discover new things, one should only do so if the price tag has been checked first.
Last but not least, we should refrain or reduce the habit of shopping online. This is because we cannot examine the actual product ourselves. In other words, we can easily fall victim to a scam. Not only that, shipping fees may have an impact on your purchase. Occasionally, the product you bought will arrive later than expected or arrived damaged. I personally don't think online shopping can guarantee a good way of spending money.
In conclusion, we should take the correct action when it comes to handling money. I hope you can learn something from this article.
Disclaimers
No, I am not against online shopping. In fact a lot of things I want are from online shops. The 'refrain or reduce the habit of shopping online' is only for content 13 in this article I had no idea left during the time of writing.
Even if you score an A+ in SPM English, your mastery in the language is considered low in Cambridge standards. It is not exactly important for you to top everyone else in Cambridge English, it will be fine if you can understand the basics of the language and can communicate fluently.
